У статті актуалізовано та окреслено проблему реалізації виховного потенціалу уроків
української літератури. Визначено, що українська література є потужним носієм ідентичності нації, її генетичного коду, тому в національному самоусвідомленні, самозбереженні й самоствердженні її роль незаперечна й важлива. Виховання свідомого українця повинно базуватися на історичних і культурних знаннях,
традиціях, на переосмисленні сучасного досвіду на основі загальнолюдських цінностей.
The article updates and outlines the problem of realizing the educational potential of Ukrainian literature lessons. It was determined that Ukrainian literature is a powerful carrier of the nation's identity, its genetic code, therefore its role in national self-awareness, self-preservation and self-affirmation is undeniable and important.
The upbringing of a conscious Ukrainian should be based on historical and cultural knowledge, traditions, on the reinterpretation of modern experience on the basis of universal values.
