The paper show the results of research on the
determination of characteristics of professional and professionally important qualities in people an engineer - mechanical
maintenance and repair of aircraft and of vocational and applied physical training. In the performance of professional
duties specific to the activities and work of engineer – mechanical maintenance and repair of aircraft functional organs
and systems can withstand great exercise, as their mode of work has its own characteristics: the current schedule
changes (including work in night shifts) , normalized time; determined by regulation of labor during the work shift; diverse
nature of the work; Interval mode working operations. Engineer – mechanic during the work shift has to suffer the
negative impact of high and low ambient temperature, working in high noise, vibration and dust, which requires
increasing the resistance of the organism. We conducted a timing job action showed that during a shift engineer –
mechanic performs various types of aircraft maintenance (PS): prompt, intermittent, seasonal, maintenance during
storage of aircraft and their special maintenance. An analysis of the characteristics of working operations that prevail
during the work shift, it was found that in general they can be divided into the following groups: simple and complex
coordination on actions that require the application of considerable muscular effort; difficult for coordinating actions that
require precision in putting muscular effort; operations that require the manifestation of visual, auditory and tactile
control; operations that require long-term preservation of static positions and performance at high altitude to 15m with
the restriction area of support, custom operations. These features professional activities requiring a high level of
coordination abilities, static, dynamic and power of endurance, strength, flexibility, and development of visual, auditory
and tactile analyzers. Results timekeeping job action on the development of professionally important qualities of
movement and personal abilities of future engineers aviation industry, which is an important component of professional
education, which contributes to the required level of physical and operational readiness of future specialists to the profession
