The article presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of ensuring the continuity of pre-school and primary levels of education in the process of bachelors’ professional training. The contradictions that exist at the present stage of development of pedagogical thought on this problem and require consistent solution are identified. The discussion among native scientists concerning the use of methods, forms and techniques of education in the process of bachelors’ professional training to work with children of different age categories is described. Different approaches to the definition of «continuity in education» are analysed. The author’s definition of this scientific phenomenon is proposed. The educational approaches to the training of bachelors at the level of methodology and modern philosophy of education are singled out: personality-oriented, competence-based, activity-based acmeological-synergistic. It is noted that an important component of the system of teachers’ training is the implementation of active forms and methods of teaching into the educational process of higher educational institutions, including: modelling professional situations, case method, business games, interactive methods, technologies for solving discussion issues, various types of trainings, project-based learning, critical thinking strategies, technologies for developing creative abilities. The conditions that ensure the effectiveness of this process are outlined, in particular: taking into account the specific features of each of the levels of the educational system; interconnection of the content of preschool education and primary school at the theoretical and practical levels; development of innovative methods of teaching and upbringing, taking into account the peculiarities of each stage; overcoming psychological and pedagogical «barriers» that arise during the realization of the connection of related stages of the educational system. The directions of further scientific researches on the problem in question are suggested, which include improving the training of future bachelors to the indicated type of activity by introducing innovative educational technologies into the educational process of institutions of higher education.
