У статті досліджено проблему становлення спортивного орієнтування слабочуючих та глухих спортсменів в Україні. Визначено ключові моменти в розвитку цього виду спорту. Вперше систематизовано дані щодо результативності вітчизняних дефлімпійців-орієнтувальників на міжнародній арені. Відображення результатів дослідження в таблицях дозволило краще сприймати інформацію. Отримані у процесі дослідження дані продемонстрували позитивну динаміку у зростанні результативності виступів вітчизняних спортсменівдефлімпійців на міжнародній арені.
The article deals with the problem of the formation of orienteering for deaf athletes in Ukraine. Key points in the development of this sport have been identified. For the first time, data on the performance of Ukrainian Deaflympians-orienteerers in the international arena are systematized. The obtained research results are displayed in tables, which made it possible to improve the perception of information. The authors note that for 25 years of history of performances of Ukrainian orienteers Deaflympians in the international arena, 119 awards were won at the European Deaf Orienteering Championships, World Deaf Orienteering Championships and Deaflympics Games. For outstanding achievements, 10 orienteering athletes received the title of "Honoured Master of Sports of Ukraine", another 9 athletes were awarded the title of "Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class". Oleksandr Sankin and Yana Melnyk became the most productive orienteering athletes in the Ukrainian national Deaflympics team. These athletes have won 32 awards in the international arena at the European Deaf Orienteering Championships, World Deaf Orienteering Championships and Deaflympics Games during their sports careers. They are one of the most titled among athletes with hearing impairments not only in Ukraine but also in the world. On the basis of the data obtained in the course of the research, it was concluded that there is a positive dynamics of growth in the performance of Ukrainian athletes-Deaflympians in the international arena.
