The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of "thinking of a musician-pianist" of a future music teacher, its essence and functioning in the performance-interpretation process of a musician during piano training. The purpose of the article is to theoretically substantiate the essence of the concept of "professional thinking of a musician-pianist" and the expediency of its development in future music teachers in the process of learning to play the piano. The general scientific principles of systematization and generalization are used, which are aimed at revealing logical connections, general features and properties in the definition of the concept of "thinking". The individual properties of thinking (independence, flexibility, speed, breadth, depth, methodicalness, critical thinking) in the context of the musical-performance process are considered. The integrated mental basis of thinking and functioning of processes is determined: perception, memory, attention, representation in the operation of musical information. The reflexive principle of thinking during piano playing is revealed as a reflected complex-process aimed at artistic (I know), technical (I know how), personal (I know why) self-realization. The peculiarity of mental operations (analysis, synthesis, comparison, abstraction, generalization) in the interpretation and performance process of a musician is determined. The basic principles of interpretation of the concept of "musical thinking" and "musical-performing thinking" by Ukrainian and foreign scientists are analyzed, the specifics and components of musical thinking that influence the interpretive process of a musician are revealed. An analytical approach in the processing of musical text and understanding of artistic and semantic comprehension of musical information is revealed. Given the specifics of musical and performing activities of the future specialist, the professional thinking of a musician-pianist is a personal integrated education that combines different aspects of professional thinking of a musician: auditory, semantic, figurative, musical-intonational, performing; and is aimed at solving practical musical-professional tasks during the interpretation of musical works.
