У статті проведено порівняльно-педагогічний аналіз професійної підготовки фахівців фізичного виховання і
спорту (педагогічного напряму) в США; проведено статистичний аналіз основних показників професійної підготовки
фахівців фізичного виховання та спорту у США.
The given article deals with the phenomena of professional preparation of
specialists of physical education and sports in the USA higher education system. Tendencies of development of physical culture and
sports in the US as determinants of modernization of professional preparation of specialists and statistical characteristics of
professional training of physical education and sport in the USA are revealed. The system of professional preparation of specialists
of physical education and sports is characterized as one that has a coherent, continuous and differentiated character within
university education. We established the USA physical education field in both «Education» and «Parks, recreation, leisure and
fitness studies» areas. We studied majors, spheres of physical education and sports, in a wild range of USA universities. Data of the
comparative analysis of curriculum content of the general education component, division field disciplines and the disciplines of major
specialization are presented. It is show that the structure of curriculum at the USA universities have common and quite unified
character and consist of three key components: general education, field disciplines and major courses. We outline twelve majors of
bachelor's levels which correspond with the titles of bachelor’s specializations. Moreover we propose to grouped these majors into
four spheres: Pedagogical (Physical Education, Teacher Education, Adapted Physical Education); Training-instructional (Fitness
Specialist, Exercise Science, Applied Exercise and Sport Sciences, Sport Psychology and Leadership,); Health-recreational (Athletic
Training, Foods & Nutrition, Pre-Physical Therapy; Health Promotion; Recreational Therapy); Management (Sport Administration/
Management, Recreation Administration).
The educational programmers’ of the USA universities have common and quite unified character. Within the field of
physical education, sport and fitness, these components are pretty much like and display slight divergences not as much in the
content of curricula as in the titles of the disciplines studied.
