Congenital heart disease (CHD) in children is not only medical but also
social problem. To improve the effectiveness of treatment of the CHD at the present stage, relevant it is the development and study of
means and methods of physical rehabilitation of children with congenital heart defects after surgery at a sanatorium stage.
A research on the definition and justification of the relevance of physical rehabilitation of older school-age children with congenital
heart disease after surgery at a sanatorium stage; identified key areas of physical rehabilitation senior school age children with congenital
heart disease after surgery at a sanatorium stage.
An analysis of the literature and information was conducted to study the process of physical rehabilitation of people with congenital
heart defects. The analysis allowed reviewing existing methodologies, attitudes, approaches, modern concepts of domestic and foreign
authors on the physical rehabilitation of patients on sanatorium stage of rehabilitation.
Revealed, that congenital heart disease in children is medical and social problem. The prevalence of congenital heart anomalies of
all childhood is quite high and the structure of infant mortality, they occupy a leading position, and the significance of this problem is obvious.
While the CHD is developing a set of compensatory and a pair of compensatory reactions aimed at maintaining adequate
circulation. Depending on the type of defect, the severity and duration of its course is the development of changes that persist even after
surgical correction of the defect, and among them the most frequent pulmonary hypertension. In addition, the CHD not only violates
hemodynamics, but also has an impact on physical and mental development of the child.
The urgency of the application of physical rehabilitation of school age children after surgical treatment of the CHD is defined as the
ever increasing number of operations, and postoperative complications. At the same time, there is currently no regulated system of phasing-
rehabilitation treatment at a sanatorium stage. Therefore, improving the efficiency of the treatment and rehabilitation of congenital heart
disease at the present stage of development depends on a number of organizational, social and medical aspects of physical rehabilitation of children in the postoperative period.
