Abstract:
According to the analysis of demographic and medical statistics indicators of health status of the Ukrainian population, Ukraine has made many achievements for twenty four years of independence but still proper attention hasn’t been paid to the demographic crisis and the issues of improving the nation’s health. The size of the population of Ukraine has been continuing to decline, the number of children is less than twenty percent. Ukrainian health-care expenditures, among forty-five European countries, are on the forty-first place. The average life expectancy in Ukraine is on 10-12 years less than in Europe. It is shown that the incidence structure has changed over the past 10-15 years among the different age groups. Such vulnerable groups as children and adolescents are in the most deplorable condition.
