In the conditions of functioning of modern Ukrainian society, the question of its traditional specificity of development, of the factors that shape the patriotic consciousness of modern youth is becoming increasingly relevant. Young people as a subject of social relations are included in the process of functioning and self-affirmation of Ukraine as a great state on the world stage, through participation in the formation of a new value paradigm, as well as through empathy with their national community, awareness of their own historical mission.
In this regard, the topic of patriotic consciousness as a component of the value structure of Ukrainian, state spirituality is becoming increasingly relevant. It should be especially noted that the formation of patriotism in the process of educating the younger generation in modern conditions is a contradictory, ambiguous process, has significant "blank spots" and raises many questions.
Patriotic education of the younger generation should be one of the key positions of the development strategy of Ukraine in general and youth policy in particular. Modern challenges of a global scale (a real threat to the military security of the country, increased activity of terrorist groups, attempts to falsify history and rethink the role of Ukraine in the victory in the Great Patriotic War, recruitment of future militants of the "Russian Federation" in the youth environment on the territory of Ukraine, high motivation of young specialists to search for work and career abroad and much more) make this work more relevant than ever. And educational institutions of higher education are given a special place in this activity.
Patriotic consciousness presupposes the formation of a certain attitude towards one's homeland, one's people and culture, awareness of the historical role of one's country, its general cultural mission. Indicators of patriotic consciousness include, in particular, an attitude towards Ukraine as a homeland, a sense of involvement in the events taking place there, a sense of common destiny with one's people, and a great love for the land on which one lives and was born.
В умовах функціонування сучасного українського суспільства все більшої актуальності набуває питання про його традиційну специфіку розвитку, про фактори, що формують патріотичну свідомість сучасної молоді. Молодь як суб’єкт суспільних відносин включається в процес функціонування та самоствердження України як великої держави на світовій арені, через участь у формуванні нової ціннісної парадигми, а також через співпереживання своїй національній спільноті, усвідомлення власної історичної місії. У зв’язку з цим все більшої актуальності набуває тема патріотичної свідомості як складової ціннісної структури української, державної духовності. Особливо слід зазначити, що формування патріотизму в процесі виховання підростаючого покоління в сучасних умовах є процесом суперечливим, неоднозначним, має значні «білі плями» і викликає багато питань.
Патріотичне виховання підростаючого покоління має бути однією з ключових позицій стратегії розвитку України в цілому та молодіжної політики зокрема. Сучасні виклики глобального масштабу (реальна загроза військовій безпеці країни, активізація терористичних угруповань, спроби фальсифікації історії та переосмислення ролі України у перемозі у Великій Вітчизняній війні, вербування майбутніх бойовиків " російською федерацією» в молодіжному середовищі на території України, висока мотивація молодих спеціалістів до пошуку роботи та кар’єри за кордоном та багато іншого) роблять цю роботу як ніколи актуальною. І особливе місце в цій діяльності відводиться навчальним закладам вищої освіти.
Патріотична свідомість передбачає формування певного ставлення до своєї Батьківщини, свого народу і культури, усвідомлення історичної ролі своєї країни, її загальнокультурної місії. Показниками патріотичної свідомості є, зокрема, ставлення до України як до Батьківщини, наявність почуття причетності до подій, що в ній відбуваються, почуття спільності своєї долі зі своїм народом і величезна любов до землі на якій ти живеш і народився.
