В статье рассмотрено развитие женского хоккея в регионах Узбекистана. Популярность нового вида спорта в регионах Узбекистана стало возможным благодаря отличным условиям для развития хоккея на траве. В конце 70-х годов ХХ века хоккеем на траве в регионах республики занималось более 2000 человек. Развитие новой игры в регионе совпало с принятым решением Международного олимпийского комитета включить женский хоккей на траве в программу летних Олимпийских игр в Москве. Первая женская команда Узбекистана была организована на базе женского гандбольного клуба «Буревестник» Андижан. По примеру андижанских стали появляться женские хоккейные команды и в других регионах Узбекистана: «Политотдел» (Ташкентская область), «Шелковичка» (Ферганская область).
The article considers the development of women's field hockey in the regions of Uzbekistan. The popularity of the new sport in the regions of Uzbekistan has become possible due to the excellent conditions for the development of field hockey. In the late 1970s, more than 2,000 people played field hockey in the regions of the republic. The development of a new game in the region coincided with the decision of the International Olympic Committee to include women's field hockey in the program of the Summer Olympic Games in Moscow. The first women's team of Uzbekistan was organized on the basis of the women's handball club "Petrel" Andijan. Following the example of Andijan teams, women's hockey teams began to appear in other regions of Uzbekistan: "Political Department" (Tashkent region), "Shelkovichka" (Fergana region).
