Особливості викладання іноземної мови в умовах інтернаціоналізації освітнього простору

Abstract

Розглянуто переваги й недоліки інтернаціоналізації освітнього простору. Описано особливості викладання іноземної мови в умовах інтернаціоналізації закладів вищої освіти. Класифіковано цілі інтернаціоналізації на дві групи: академічні й економічні. Визначено місце іноземної мови в досягненні зазначених цілей. Проаналізовано дані про рівень інтернаціоналізації вітчизняних ЗВО, оприлюднені Українським державним центром міжнародної освіти при Міністерстві освіти і науки України станом на 2018–2019 навчальний рік. Досліджено інтернаціоналізацію освітнього простору як внутрішній та зовнішній процеси. Визначено основні напрями діяльності університетів у контексті розвитку внутрішньої інтернаціоналізації: включення до навчальних планів обов’язкових і факультативних «інтернаціональних» дисциплін; доповнення змісту традиційних дисциплін міжнародними темами та прикладами; розроблення навчальних планів, розрахованих на іноземних студентів; упровадження навчальних планів з підготовки студентів до роботи у міжнародних компаніях; викладання дисциплін іноземними мовами; створення регіональних і тематичних студій, які в інформаційному аспекті охоплюють декілька країн; залучення до навчального процесу закордонних викладачів і науковців; створення віртуальної аудиторії студентів різних країн; відкриття курсів з культури різних народів світу, міжкультурної комунікації, країнознавства, ділової іноземної мови. Виокремлено ключові компоненти зовнішньої інтернаціоналізації: академічна мобільність студентів; мобільність викладачів та науковців; створення й реалізація спільних із закордонними закладами вищої освіти науково-дослідницьких проєктів, реалізація програм подвійних дипломів; відкриття філіалів за кордоном. Доведено, що ефективність викладання іноземної мови в умовах інтернаціоналізації освітнього простору підпорядкована специфічним принципам, оскільки визначають зміст, організацію, форми і методи навчально-виховної роботи. Обґрунтовано необхідність розроблення навчальних планів для іноземних студентів та викладання фахових дисциплін іноземною мовою.

The article deals with the advantages and disadvantages of internationalising the education space. The specificities of foreign language teaching in the conditions of internationalising higher education institutions have been described. The goals of internationalisation have been classified into two groups: academic and economic. The place of a foreign language in achieving these goals has been determined. The data on the level of internationalisation of domestic HEIs, published by the Ukrainian State Centre for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in 2018–2019 academic years, have been analyzed. Internationalisation of the education space as internal and external processes has been researched. The main directions of universities’ activities in the context of developing the internal internationalisation have been defined: introducing core and elective “international» disciplines in the curricula; supplementing the content of traditional disciplines with international themes and samples; elaborating the curricula developed for foreign students; implementing the curricula for training students for work in international companies; reading disciplines in foreign languages; creation of regional and thematic studies, which cover several countries in the informational aspect; involvement of foreign teachers and scholars in the educational process; setting up a virtual auditorium for students from different countries; launch of the courses on the culture of different peoples of the world, intercultural communication, country studies, business foreign language. The key components of external internationalization have been outlined: academic mobility of students; mobility of teachers and researchers; establishing and realization of joint research projects with foreign higher education institutions, implementation of double diploma programmes; launch of the departments abroad. It has been proved that the effectiveness of foreign language teaching in the conditions of internationalising the education space is subordinated to specific principles, as they determine the content, organization, forms and methods of educational work. The necessity of developing the curricula for foreign students and teaching of vocational disciplines in a foreign language has been substantiated.
