потенційні можливості використання баскетболу у адаптаційному процесі студентів у умовах навчальної
діяльності у вищих педагогічних закладах освіти.
The article reveals the issues of adaptation of first-year
students to higher education. Potential possibilities of using basketball in the adaptation process of students in the
conditions of educational activity in higher pedagogical educational institutions are grounded.
One of the most general theoretical problems of higher education is the adaptation of first -year students to higher
education, serving in this context as a multifaceted process of activating social and biological reserves of young people in
response to changing living conditions.
The educational and professional activity of future teachers is associated with significant mental,
neuropsychological stress on the background of limited motor activity. At the current stage of development of higher
pedagogical education, the potential of physical education is not enough.
The best form of physical culture, which has both health and educational value at the same time, is the popular
sport among the student youth, including basketball. Basketball as a team sport, educates the ability to act in a team, mutual
respect, mutual leadership, tolerance, resistance to conflict situations; the need to comply with established rules brings
discipline and responsibility; the continuous change of gaming situations requires an immediate reaction to the actions of
rivals and partners, which learns to quickly make decisions in different, often unpredictable circumstances, develops the
ability to adequately change the behavior depending on the conditions The nature of the game brings up emotional contact
and emotional stability, contributes to reducing the psycho-emotional stress. Basketball exercises contribute to the formation
of social skills of students, in particular, develop their ability to anticipate and plan, leadership qualities, endurance, selfconfidence
and commitment. Consequently, basketball has wide opportunities for social and personal development of youth.
Basketball section for students of pedagogical specialties are accessible, allow to carry out motor and
psychological training, promote emotional unloading and have educational potential, which helps to reduce the period of
adaptation at the entrance and further successful training.
