The lack of a gender approach to formation of the personality of children can not only distort the process of their mental development, but also affect their physical health. In this regard, the involvement of children and young people to systematic physical activities as the main factor of a healthy lifestyle, possibly subject to a differentiated gender approach. Integration of gender approach in physical education of the modern secondary school is one of the indicators of the gender balance of Ukraine as a developed state, standing in front of the European choice. This, in turn, requires targeted gender mainstreaming as a new way of knowing and understanding the realities of modernity in the educational process and physical activities of secondary school and, on this basis, the improvement of the educational process, filling it with content that will contribute to the formation of modern worldview of students and development of their personal potential. Today more than ever there is a question about the implementation of the gender approach in physical education of the younger generation. Introduction of gender approach in physical education of schoolchildren should be understood as an extension of living space for the development of individual abilities and inclinations of each child that will help develop a specific strategy for attracting students to systematic physical training and inculcate in them a positive attitude towards physical activity.
