Художнє моделювання образів євреїв у малій прозі Володимира Леонтовича

Abstract

У статті подана характеристика образів євреїв у оповіданнях і нарисах Володимира Леонтовича. Відповідно до типологічної класифікації Г. Грабовича щодо наявності трьох моделей єврейства в українській літературі визначено модельну дифузію образу єврея у творчості белетриста: вони написані у традиційному сенсі, змальовують стереотипне бачення українця на єврейське життя і водночас розкривають міжособистісні стосунки єврейського народу, ставленням до релігії, до інших національностей. Автор у ненав’язливій формі пропонує заглибитися у непростий світ єврейських відносин, які акумулюють тезу про перемогу найспритнішого над спритним. Зроблено висновок про оригінальність «єврейського» набутку Володимира Леонтовича, який у творах доводить з психологічної точки зору різнотиповість характерів євреїв, відкриває завісу «інакшого», відмінного від українського, світу.

In Ukrainian literature, references to Jews follow from the era of oral folk poetry. The oldest motive connects the Jewish image with the gospel story artistically dressed by the people. The image of the Jews was popular both in the artistic prose of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries: every writer of that time did not bypass the depiction of the Jews, their relations in their own environment, with other nationalities. Therefore, the «capture» of this topic by Vоlоdymir Leontovуch can be considered contemporary needs of that time. Purpose to study the features of the artistic modeling of the image of a Jew in the short stories of Volodymir Leontovуch The description of images of Jews in the stories and essays by Volodymir Leontovуch is described. The writer explores the difficult relationships in the Jewish community, emphasizes the intransigence and craftiness of some Jews, as well as the wisdom and farsightedness of others. Determining the peculiarities of social relations among the Jews in the first decades of the twentieth century, at the same time, the writer deepened in their inner world, proving from a psychological point of view the heterogeneous character of the Jewish population. The author in a unobtrusive way offers to go deep into the difficult world of Jewish relations, which accumulate the thesis of the victory of the most agile on smart. According to the typological classification of Н. Нrabovich in relation to the existence of three Jewish models in Ukrainian literature, the model diffusion of the Jew’s image in the work of the short prose is defined: they are written in the traditional sense, depict the stereotypical vision of a Ukrainian in Jewish life and, at the same time, reveal the interpersonal relations of the Jewish people, the attitude towards religion, other nationalities. A conclusion is drawn about the originality of the «Jewish» gain of Volodymir Leontovich, who in his works proves from a psychological point of view a different characters of the Jews, different from the Ukrainian.
