Strengthening and maintaining the health of students, raising their level of physical preparedness, are the most urgent of
the main tasks facing the Ukrainian society.
The article is devoted to the study of the level of physical preparedness of students who by age belong to the age group of
18-20 years. The study involved 614 students of the first and second courses, from all specializations (men, women). The testing
was carried out at the sports complex of the Kiev National University of Trade and Economics, and the assessment was conducted
on four, levels of physical preparedness: high, sufficient, average, low. The assessment of the results was carried out according to a
table of standards for higher education graduates from 2 to 5 points. Prior to conducting physical preparedness tests, students who
regularly attend training sessions and receive the necessary basic training, clearly understood the purpose of their participation and
familiarized with the technique and safety rules during their implementation, who have under gone a medical examination and are
admitted to the doctor before testing. The conducted studies indicate that the level of development of physical qualities of students is
evaluated satisfactorily. As a result of the study, it was found that students of the first year with a high level of physical preparedness fulfilled – 50,
the second course – 29, with sufficient 108-77, 108-72, and 102-68 respectively. Some students have a low level of development of
individual motor qualities as endurance. The development of motor quality as speed, flexibility and agility deserves special
assessment. The jump in length from place to both women and men is satisfactory. Analyzing the results of the study, it was
concluded that successful delivery of test standards requires regular training, where students should spend more time in motor
preparation for motor activity.
