The article examines and analyzes the preparation of future teachers of the basics of health for the implementation of sex education for secondary school students.
Among modern pedagogical problems one of the socially important is the decrease in the age of onset of sexual life by minors, accompanied by an increase in the number of abortions, expanding the range of sexually transmitted diseases, the emergence of single mothers among schoolgirls.
These phenomena indicate the insufficient effectiveness of the work carried out by teachers with students in the direction of sex education, the lack of theoretical and methodological training of teachers, the low level of pedagogical culture of parents.
As a result, there are contradictions between the significant educational potential of school and family in sexual education and its insufficient use in educational practice, as well as the organized educational process of the school and the natural impact on students of the social environment.
Thus, the current problem facing the education system is the implementation of sexual education of young people. The need for sexual education of the younger generation is practically beyond doubt in either the parental or pedagogical community. According to the National Family Planning Program adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the National Program «Children of Ukraine», special attention is paid to the issues of hygienic education and preparation of young people to create a future family and give birth to a healthy child.
