Питання української ідентичності в житті та творчості українських істориків-могилянців XVII – XVIII ст. (на прикладі Григорія Граб'янки, Самійла Величка та Івана Мартоса)

Abstract

У статті розкривається питання української ідентичності в житті та творчості найвідоміших українських істориків-літописців ХVІІ - ХVІІІ ст. Г. Граб’янки, С. Величка та І. Мартоса. Заявлені сучасні підходи вивчення проблеми науковцями, де акцент зроблено на біографії, кар’єрі та теоретичному спадку істориків – літописців цього періоду. Виявлено роль та значимість їх навчання в Києво-Могилянській колегії, яка дала їм ґрунтовну освіту, знання іноземних мов, вміння систематизувати та аналізувати різноманітні історичні джерела, заклала основи літописання, що надалі відкривало можливість вивчати та популяризувати історичне минуле українців, їх духовність, культуру та традиції. Акцентується увага на значимості козацтва в житті та творчості літописців, розкривається їх роль як захисників українських вольностей та прав проти російської експансії, а водночас - прагнення козаків до територіальної та політичної самостійності. На основі глибокого аналізу біографій митців встановлена подібність їх долі, творчості та кар’єри, а також харизми кожного з них. У статті зроблена спроба комплексного підходу вивчення проблеми, використано метод порівняльного аналізу щодо виявлення особливих складових української національної ідентичності в житті та творчості українських істориків - літописців цього періоду. Розкрито зміст літописів Г. Граб’янки та С. Величка, де має місце бароковий стиль, уславлений українськими героїчними вчинками у добу козацтва. Доведено, що, на відміну від них, роботи Івана Мартоса присвячені проблемі світського та релігійного життя українців.

The article reveals the issue of Ukrainian identity in the life and work of the most famous Ukrainian historians - chroniclers of the 17th – 18th centuries. H. Hrabianka, S. Velichka and I. Martos. Stated modern approaches to the study of problems by scientists, where emphasis is placed on the biography, career and theoretical heritage of historians-chroniclers of this period. The role and significance of their education in the Kyiv-Mohyla college, which gave them a thorough education, knowledge of foreign languages, the ability to systematize and analyze various historical sources, laid the foundations of chronicles, which further opened up the opportunity to study and popularize the historical past of Ukrainians, their spirituality, culture and traditions. Attention is focused on the importance of the Cossacks in the life and work of the chroniclers, their role as defenders of Ukrainian freedoms and rights against Russian expansion is revealed, and at the same time – the desire of the Cossacks for territorial and political independence. Based on an in-depth analysis of the artists' biographies, the similarity of their fate, creativity and career, as well as the charisma of each of them, was established. The article attempts a comprehensive approach to the study of the problem, using the method of comparative analysis to identify special components of Ukrainian national identity in the life and work of Ukrainian historians-chroniclers of this period. The content of the annals of H. Hrabyanka and S. Velichka, where the baroque style, glorified by Ukrainian heroic deeds in the days of the Cossacks, takes place has been revealed. It is proved that, in contrast to them, the works of Ivan Martos are devoted to the problem of secular and religious life of Ukrainians.
