У дисертації проаналізовано сутність основних тенденцій розвитку освіти й педагогічної думки Півдня України (території Одеського навчального округу) другої половини ХІХ – початку ХХ ст. У роботі визначено соціально-економічні передумови становлення освітньої системи регіону, висвітлено проблему розвитку системи освіти Півдня України, представлено результати дослідження особливостей діяльності навчальних закладів елементарної, загальної, професійної, вищої ланок освіти, навчальних закладів з підготовки педагогічних кадрів. Представлено результати аналізу поглядів і освітньої діяльності визначних та маловідомих представників педагогічної теорії та практики Півдня України (А. Готалова-Готліба, М.Завадського, І. Казаса, М. Корфа, М. Ланге, Я. Новицького, М. Поля, М. Пирогова, Ф. Хартахая, С. Черкасенка, Б. Штерна,). Розкрито особливості реалізації педагогічних ідей прогресивних представників педагогічної думки Півдня України в діяльності освітніх закладів регіону.
This thesis focuses on the analysis of the essence of South Ukrainian Education and Pedagogical thought basic tendencies (the territory of Odessa educational area) of the second half of the 19th - the beginning of 20th century. The social-economic preconditions of regional educational system formation are defined. The problem of South Ukrainian educational system development under polyethnic conditions is studied. The results of the research of regional educational institutions activity are presented. The charecteristic of the system of pedagogical specialists’ training is revealed. The results of the analysis of pedagogical theory and practice of famous and unknown representatives views and educational activity in Southern Ukraine are represented (A. Gotalov-Gotlib, M. Zavadskij, I. Kasas, M. Korf, M. Lange, Y. Novitskyi, M. Pol, M. Pyrogov, S. Cherkasenko, B. Shtern, F. Xartrxaj). The pecularities of pedagogical ideas realization of South Ukrainian pedagogical thought progressive representatives within the activity of regional educational institutions are revealed.
