Дисертація присвячена дослідженню існування та функціонування громадської думки у політико-культурній сфері з метою науково-теоретичного обґрунтування громадської думки як одного із елементів демократії та чинника, що може суттєво впливати на формування демократичної політичної культури в Україні. Уточнено змістовне наповнення понять «суб’єкт громадської думки», «носій громадської думки» та «виразник громадської думки». Досліджується процес формування громадської думки та вплив на нього таких факторів як об’єкт громадської думки, ЗМІ, «лідери думок», існуюча в суспільстві політична культура. Здійснено порівняльний аналіз існування і функціонування громадської думки в тоталітарно-авторитарному і демократичному типах політичної культури.
The dissertation is dedicated to the research of existence and functioning of the public opinion in the political-cultural field with the purpose of scientific-theoretic argumentation of the public opinion as one of the democracy elements and the factor, which can significantly influence the building of the democratic political culture in Ukraine. The author specifies the meaning of the terms «public opinion subject», «public opinion bearer» and «public opinion spokesman». The author investigates the process of the public opinion building and the influence of such factors as the public opinion object, mass media, «opinion leaders», existing political culture. The comparative analysis of the existence and functioning of public opinion in the totalitarian-authoritarian and democratic political culture types is made within dissertation research.
