The dissertation deals with the problem of youth socialization in the activity of different youth organizations of the United Kingdom, which are considered a specific pedagogical sphere, influencing personal growth and development, self-actualization and social adaptation of the individual. In the research the theoretical approaches on youth leisure education and socialization by Ukrainian, Russian and British scientists are conceptualized, as well as the specific peculiarities of the Youth Organizations socializing influence. The author discloses the functions and characteristics of those institutions as a social-pedagogical phenomenon of British society. L. Gordiienko shows different approaches and views of the terms “socialization”, “education”, “leisure” and represents her own author concepts. The process of socialization is studied from the point of view of subject-subject co-activity scheme, and this approach is rather fresh for Ukrainian social pedagogical science. The concept of the Leisure Education, proved by several British scientists, is implemented in L. Gordiienko’s research as an essential component of youth socialization process in youth organizations, as well as the importance of the group interaction concept. The author grounds theoretically and proves experimentally the social-pedagogical conditions of effective influence of the youth organizations upon the youth socialization process. The effectiveness of the developed youthwork programme, which bases upon the important principles and standards of the social work, has been examined by the experiment and proved in practice. In the research the author shows some peculiar features of the professional stuff training and retraining as an essential social-pedagogical condition of the youth organizations’ functioning. The author's youth leaders peer-group training programme has been developed, as well as the methodical recommendations for the practical work have been stated. In view of the need to adopt foreign youthwork experience with due regard to the national peculiarities the programme of the youth leaders peer-group training “All different - all equal” has been introduced into the All-Ukrainian Community Centre “Volunteer” in Kyiv. The research proved the investigational hypotheses that professionally competent leisure providing in the structure of the youth organizations would promote its purposefill social-pedagogical influence, as far as absence of well-organized leisure leads to the spontaneous socialization that can cause undesirable consequences. Youth organizations in Great Britain are characterized by the purposeful activity, based upon the interests of the young people, particular activity directions, forms of financing and management, considering the religious, ethnical, sociocultural and other specific features in the activity planning and finding the forms and methods of influencing the social, cultural, moral, ethical and physical development of young people. The research proves that youth organizations functioning as a socio-cultural environment include the activities of many different social institutes and spheres (administrative, public, youth, youth community, youth subcultures, leisure organizations, clubs as well as the associations and other developments), which anticipate their active, coordinated cooperation. Furthermore, due to the achieved data the author stated the fact that the Web organizations in contemporary information society could promote the process of youth socialization in terms of socio-directed sets of positive activities in the Internet. The experimental work which was carried out, consequently allows to state that the youth socialization can be conducted under the following conditions: when the youth organizations act as an effective social-pedagogical factor; if their polyhedral activity is based upon the needs, interests and abilities of the young people themselves; if the youth organizations work in close cooperation with the communities, county Councils and other social institutions in the certain types of activities; if the context and activities directions are provided by the professionals (social teachers, social workers, specially trained youth leaders etc.). At the same time, the research promotes necessity of the further development of the variable youth leaders training programmes, standardization of the professional capability in the structure of youth organizations, stuff training etc.
