Abstract

У статті розглядаються погляди Івана Огієнка на розвиток і значення національної літературної мови, мовної практики письменників, багатство їх мовностильової палітри, на головну функцію літературної мови – бути джерелом національної єдності.

In the article the research papers of Ivan Ohiyenko due to the features of art works by Ukrainian writers are analyzed. The books «History of Ukrainian literary language», «The Science of native language duties», «Our literary language», «Grammatic and stylistic dictionary of Shevchenko’s language» and others became the object of the research. Attention is paid to the role of writers in the formation of Ukrainian language and guidelines for masters of the pen.
