The article explains the concept of «creativity» and also substantiates the feasibility of its development in preschool children. The main stages of the creative process of a preschool child are highlighted. It was established that in the works of psychologists and pedagogues theatrical activity was studied to a large extent in the context of identifying opportunities for the development of preschoolers’ creative abilities. It has been found that dramatized games can be divided into two main groups: directed games and dramatized games. It is highlighted that the play-dramatization teaches children to express their feelings, contributes to the development of their memory and speech. Preschoolers learn to show independence, creativity during the process of selection of visual and expressive meansin order to create images. It has been established that director’s games contribute to the development of a child’s creativity, because in the process of such games, the child does not need to take into account the position of others, he does not need to adapt to them. The child comes up with his own rules, fulfills them, and at the same time he remains himself. It has been studied that a child at preschool age can make a creative image that is characterized by variability, originality, flexibility and mobility. Taking part in a theatrical game, preschoolers learn the world around them. During theatrical play, the vocabulary of preschoolers is imperceptibly enriched and activated, intonation possibilities are expanded, dialogic language and its grammatical system are improved. Theatrical activity acts as a source of development of preschoolers’ feelings and deep experiences. Involving children in a theatrical play reveals to them the meaning of human spiritual values, develops the emotional sphere, as it forces them to sympathize or condemn the actions or characters’ behavior.
