Вивчення гендерних питань у контексті соціальної роботи з людьми похилого віку

Abstract

Стаття присвячена вивченню гендерних особливостей чоловіків і жінок похилого віку, які виявляються в особливостях переживання ними складних життєвих ситуацій відповідно до статі. Авторами аналізується гендерна зумовленість проблем людей похилого віку, яка проявляється в показниках стану здоров’я, різній тривалості життя, ступені соціальної активності й залежності від соціального захисту, статусі в сім’ї та суспільстві, переживанні виходу на пенсію тощо. Ці й інші аспекти мають ураховувати соціальні працівники, орієнтуючись у професійній діяльності на гендерний підхід. На думку дослідниць, означений підхід має базуватися на професійній компетентності фахівців, що включає знання гендерної специфіки старіння й передбачає делікатне, тактовне ставлення соціальних працівників до особистих проблем людей похилого віку, до специфіки самовираження їхньої гендерної ідентичності, до тих труднощів, які доводиться переживати жінкам і чоловікам у період пізньої зрілості. Констатовано, що через зростання числа чоловіків і жінок похилого віку в сучасному суспільстві соціальна робота з ними набуває дедалі більшої актуальності, стає значущою й невід’ємною частиною соціальної політики. Ці люди потребують підтримки, захисту, допомоги та піклування з боку держави, щоб повноцінно функціонувати в суспільстві, не бути ізольованими від суспільства й не стати тягарем для оточуючих. Визначено, що знання особливостей впливу соціально-психологічних і біологічних факторів на процес старіння, урахування гендерних аспектів соціальної роботи із жінками та чоловіками похилого віку дасть фахівцям змогу направлено змінювати умови та спосіб їхнього життя так, щоб сприяти оптимальному функціонуванню в період пізньої зрілості.

The article is devoted to the study of gender peculiarities of older men and women who find themselves in the peculiarities of experiencing difficult life situations according to their gender. Authors analyses the gender conditionality of problems of elderly people, that shows up in the indexes of the state of health, different life-span, degree of social activity and dependence on social defence, status in family and society, experiencing of retiring, expectations of society, family and near surroundings from women and men of senior age and others like that. These and other aspects social workers must take into account, oriented in the professional activity on gender approach. In the opinion of the researcher, the marked approach must be based on the professional competence of specialists, that includes knowledge of gender-specific of ageing, and envisages delicate, a tactful attitude of social workers toward the personal problems of elderly people, to the specific of self-expression of them gender identity, to those difficulties that it will be to experience to the women and men in the period of late maturity. It is established, that through the increase of several men and women years old in modern society, social work with them acquires all greater actuality, becomes a meaningful and inalienable part of social politics. These people need support, defence, help and caring from the side of the state in an order valuably to function in society, be not isolated from society and not to become a load for the wider public. Certainly, that exact and complete knowledge of features of the influence of social-psychological and biological factors on the process of ageing of personality, taking into account of gender aspects of social work with women and men years old will allow to the specialists of social sphere directionally to change terms, way of life of these people thus, to assist the optimal functioning of the personality of the man of senior age and render to the same retentive influence on the process of her ageing.
