Здійснено аналіз основних природоохоронних заходів в рамках діяльності НОК країн, охарактеризовано форми
співпраці НОКів з різними відомчими та екологічними організаціями. Було встановлено, що роль НОКів у реалізації
сталого розвитку в країні полягає у залученні місцевого населення через спорт до охорони довкілля, збереженню
екології країни, навчання культурі поведінки з природою, формування турботливого ставлення до навколишнього
середовища.
Sports community used to play active role in solving environmental problems. Olympic organizations, such as National Olympic
committees (NOCs), focus on the protection of the environment as a part of sustainable development strategy. The functioning of the
Sport and Environment commissions in the NOCs’ structure, hosting the international congresses and conferences highlighting
different ecological issues, involving the international organizations such as UNEP, UNESCO for realization of various ecological
projects through sport are the evidence of the strategy. The importance of this area is reflected in the various environmental
programs and projects that are actively implemented by NOCs and other international organizations. The analysis of the main
ecological projects launched by NOC was carried out in the study. The characteristics of the forms of cooperation between NOCs
and various governmental and environmental organizations were presented. It was revealed that the role of NOCs in the
implementation of sustainable development in the country is to attract the local population through sports to protect the nature,
preserve the country's ecology, teach the environmental friendly culture, create a special attitude of the population to the environment. As a result of the studies it was found that in the further development of the Olympic movement involves the formation
of appropriate environmental infrastructure, environmentally oriented worldview of specialists in the sphere of physical culture and
sports, implementation of the principles of sustainable development into the Olympic movement at local level.
