Класифікаційне розмаїття видів метафор

Abstract

Статтю присвячено розробці комплексної класифікації метафор. Подано історичні факти з дослідження та опису метафори. Розглянуто метафору як мовний засіб сьогодення, що активно використовується всіма учасниками комунікації, часто несвідомо. Охарактеризовано функції метафори в мовленні. Наголошено на унікальності та важливості цього тропу, що підтверджено висловлюваннями видатних діячів літератури та філософії. Для ілюстрації поданого матеріалу наведено цілу низку метафор.

Статья посвящена разработке комплексной классификации метафор. Метафора рассматривается как актуальное языковое средство, которое активно используется всеми участниками коммуникации, часто неосознанно. Определены функции метафоры в языке. Отмечены уникальность и важность этого тропа, что подтверждено высказываниями выдающихся деятелей литературы и философии. Для иллюстрации представленного материала приведен целый ряд метафор

The paper deals with a complex classification of metaphors. The criteria for metaphor classification include the following: the prevalence in the language; the structure; the thematic relevance of the source domain; the target domain; the degree of content remoteness of the source and target domains; the universality of the source and target domains; the degree of integrity of the internal form; methods of the complication of the second meaning of the word; the functional attribute; the number of the units of the metaphorical image; the present case in the metaphor; the similarity of objects, phenomena or properties on the basis of which the metaphors are formed. Historical facts of the metaphor study and depiction are presented. The semantic duality of the metaphor is underlined in the paper. Metaphor is considered as a modern language means that is actively used by all communication members, often unconsciously. Тhe functions that metaphor performs in the language are characterized. The uniqueness and importance of this trope in the language are emphasized and confirmed by the famous writers’ and philosophers’ statements. A series of metaphors is given to illustrate the presented material.
