У статті розглянуто структуру та змістове наповнення навчальних програм, що використовуються у США при підготовці бакалаврів галузі фізичного виховання і спорту. Охарактеризовано основні блоки дисциплін: загальної освіти, галузі знань, академічної спеціалізації.
Significant changes in American higher education aimed the radical transformation of universities and higher education and primarily related to the curriculum. The curriculum includes goals for student learning; sequence which provides training concept; contents and list of subjects that students study; teaching methods and activities; evaluation methods and more. Traditional study program in physical education and sport in the United States usually consists of the following degree
component: General Education; Pre-major (Area of Study Core Curriculum, Lower Division); Major. The General Education program generally sequentially introduces students to the mastery of academic skills that will provide graduates with an understanding of self, the physical world, the development and functioning of human society, and its cultural and artistic endeavors, as well as an understanding of the methodologies, value systems, and thought processes employed in human inquiries. General Education offers students broad knowledge beyond the focus of the major, as well as exposure to the rich diversity of the human experience. These courses are designed to provide the knowledge, skills, experiences, and perspectives that will enable students to expand their capacities to take part in a wide range of human interests and activities; to confront personal, moral, and social problems that are an inevitable part of human life; and to cultivate both the requisite skills and enthusiasm for lifelong learning. Pre-major is a set of courses designed to address a range of learning outcomes that require students to satisfy prerequisites before being admitted to the major. Courses are belonging to the area of study Fitness, Recreation and Leisure Studies, which is going to operate future specialist. This block attribute group basic disciplines of professional orientation specialists in physical education and sports, namely teaching, coaching, instructor, health and rehabilitation and management
areas. It includes a large number of academic disciplines and their combinations and interdisciplinary subjects. An academic major is the academic discipline to which an undergraduate student formally commits. The major provides in-depth study in the fields in which an institution awards a degree our case – Fitness, Recreation and Leisure Studies. The major, on the other hand, is the depth component, providing the student with: terms, concepts, ideas, and events pertinent to the field; models, frameworks, genres, theories, and themes that link phenomena and give them meaning; methods of research and modes of inquiry appropriate to the area of study; criteria for arriving at a conclusion or making generalizations about that which is studied.
В статье рассмотрена структура и содержательное наполнение учебных планов, используемых в США при подготовке бакалавров физического воспитания и спорта. Охарактеризованы основные блоки дисциплин: общего образования, отрасли знаний, академической специализации.
