Priorities for the development of the Ukrainian national idea and the upbringing students of this modern era

Abstract

The article deals with the main aspects of the Ukrainian national idea formation among Ukrainian students in the process of forming professionally oriented foreign language teaching environment. Presented its aims and principles. The causes of the importance of this issue in development of the Ukrainian society have been considered. Analised the address by the US President Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower at the unveiling of the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Washington (1964). Global challenges of the 21st century show that the training and upbringing of present youth are central problems for the contemporary higher education system. It is particularly relevant for Ukraine, which has experienced recent large shocks, associated with the breaking of social order. In this regard, there is a need to find new pedagogical strategies to support the development of a student’s personality, in order to intensity the teaching and upbringing processes in the conditions of university. The question of multicultural upbringing of students in the context of professionally oriented foreign language teaching environment in the conditions of university is considered.

У статті окреслюється актуальність і розкриваються аспекти формування української національної ідеї в умовах університету в процесі формування професійно орієнтованого іншомовного навчального середовища для майбутніх спеціалістів. На прикладі відкриття пам’ятнику Т.Шевченку у Вашингтоні, лінгвостилістичного аналізу промови президента США Д.Ейзенхаура розглянуто причини важливості даного чинника для виховання сучасного студентства та доцільності введення у процес навчання іноземної мови українознавчого змісту.

В статье освещается актуальность и раскрываются аспекты формирования украинской национальной идеи в процессе формирования профессионально ориентированной иноязычной среды обучения для будущих специалистов в условиях университета. На примере открытия памятника Т.Шевченко в Вашингтоне, лингвостилистического речи президента США Д.Ейзенхаура рассмотрены причины важности данного фактора для воспитания современного студенчества и целесообразности введения украиноведческого содержания в процесс обучения иностранному языку.
